Jeanie Van Akkeren went to Meridian Community College where I played softball and obtained my Associate in Arts. After graduating with honors, I then transferred to Mississippi University for Women in Columbus MS, where I obtained my BSN. I worked in many areas of nursing including ER, L&D, NICU, among many others. I traveled the country as a travel nurse. In 2012, I obtained my MSN in Family Practice at the University of South Alabama. I have been practicing in primary and urgent care clinics as well as working with patients who suffer from mental health or addiction. I have been in the medical field for over 21 years and could never see myself doing anything but nursing. I enjoy helping others and seeing someone who is wanting to better their lives, and helping them along in their process.
